Bistro MD vs Diet To Go – Which is Best For You?
Trying to decide between Bistro MD vs Diet To Go?
Want to know which is best for you?
It’s not an easy choice – these are 2 of our top-rated diet food delivery plans.
They both send you freshly made, healthy weight loss meals with an emphasis on whole food ingredients and no preservatives.
They both also have the option to get meals 5 or 7 days and they both have great customization options.
So how are they different?
Which should you choose?
Here’s a review of the main differences between them to help you decide.
Bistro MD vs Diet To Go – Price
Compared to some weekly fresh-meal delivery services that charge you upwards of $40 a day, both Bistro MD and Diet To Go come in well under this – around $20 a day.
Diet To Go has the slight edge at around $19 a day (with coupon here).
Bistro MD starts around $22 a day (but you can get a discount on your first week and start for around $13 a day here).
So Diet To Go appears to have the edge when it comes to price. However to be fair, you have to compare apples to apples.
Diet to Go has an option where you only get lunches and dinners (no breakfasts) and Bistro MD does not have this option. So of course Diet To Go will appear to be a little more affordable since you’re not getting as many meals.

Diet Plan Differences:
Bistro MD is really based around one calorie-controlled balanced diet designed by weight loss expert, Dr. Caroline J Cedarquist.
Meals are designed with a scientific balance of complex carbohydrates, like vegetables, whole grains and fiber, along with lean protein and healthy fat ratios.
Diet To Go on the other hand offers you 3 different types of plans – Low Fat (called Balance), Low Carb (called Carb 30-Keto) and Vegetarian.
So you have a choice between these different types of plans and menus. You can also switch back and forth at any time for no extra charge.

Delivery Options:
It can get a bit confusing but here’s the gist of it: Bistro MD has a 5 or 7 day meal delivery option (in case you want to get meals 5 days per week and then take your weekends off).
You get 3 full meals a day. There’s also an optional to add on extra snacks or desserts if you want them.

Diet To Go also gives you the option to get 5 or 7 day meal delivery.
However you also have the choice to get 3 meals per day or just two meals per day (no breakfast meals included). There are no dessert/snack options however Diet To Go will often include little extras like yogurt, fruits, condiments and little extras you’ll need for the meals.
Either service will deliver the food to your home in special stay-cool packaging so you do not need to be home to receive your meals.

Bistro MD vs Diet To Go – Meal Quality:
On the whole, Bistro MD offers a more gourmet-style menu with a lot of food for each meal. Their meals are more restaurant-quality and higher-end.
Here’s a sample of what you’ll eat on Bistro MD:
– Roasted Turkey Breast with Gravy, Seasoned Brussel Sprouts and Spiced Apples
– Chicken Cordon Bleu with 3 Cheeses with Dijon Mustard Sauce, Quinoa with Rice and Fresh Broccoli
– Roasted Norwegian Salmon With Young Leaf Spinach and Wild Rice W/Cranberries
– Dark Chocolate Chip Crepes with Pork Sausage Hash (Breakfast)

Diet To Go Meals are a bit simpler than this with menu items like:
– Baked Salmon with Pineapple Salsa
– Parmesan Spinach Stuffed Chicken
– Veal Sorrento with Ham and Grilled Veggies
– Waffles with Blueberry Cream Cheese (Breakfast)
That doesn’t mean they’re worse however. In fact, Diet To Go meals were recently rated #1 for Taste by Epicurious – so the meals on this plan are still quite delicious. They’re just simpler.

How Much Weight Will I Lose?
Both plans have a good history of weight loss success stories and results.

Since they both give you around the same number of calories per day it’s fair to say that they come out about even here. There isn’t a clear front runner. (However obviously your weight loss results will also depend on any extra snacks you add, your activity level, age, gender etc.)
You should expect to lose around 1 – 3.5 pounds per week on either plan which can be from 4 – 10 pounds per month.

Bottom Line?
So which diet is best for you? This depends on what’s most important to you.
For example, Diet To Go gives you 3 different plan options – which is great since some people find they lose weight better on a low carb or Keto-friendly diet vs a standard low-fat diet.
And the option to change between plans or customize your meals online for no extra charge is also a great benefit.
On the other hand, Bistro MD offers you food that’s a little more gourmet. You also have the option to add on snacks or desserts.
So if you need that extra little bit of pampering and a more Hollywood-star like experience when losing weight, Bistro MD might be the better option.
Both plans have proven weight loss results and are very easy to order – with all the instructions you need for each meal included. So at the end of the day, you can’t go too far wrong with either one.
It just really depends on what’s most appealing to you.
